Resistive layer becomes +5V through four drive lines of touch screen while waiting for touch in the controller. Voltage of cover sheet is zero when touch screen is not touched. Voltage level of cover sheet keeps converting through ADC (Analog-Digital Converter) and microprocessor of controller observes it. Microprocessor detects voltage buildup of cover sheet and starts to convert coordinates when touch screen is touched.
Voltage of X drive is delivered to the touch screen by applying +5V to the pin H and X ground pin Y and L of microprocessor. Analog voltage proportional to position of X (horizon) touch is shown on the pin 5 cover sheet of the touch screen connector. The voltage is saved to convert it into digital and send it to host in the ADC.
Then, the voltage of Y drive is sent to the touch screen by applying +5V to the pin H and X and ground pin Y and L of microprocessor. The analog voltage proportional to position of Y (vertical) touch is shown on the pin 5 cover sheet of touch screen connector. Above mentioned, the signal of position X is converted and processed.
